Electronics Interest Group

Hi guys! EHIG was attended to SATS-ESN Carnival in this year again! SATS-ESN Carnival 2015 is organised by SATS and ESN to promote community bonding. This year, it is held on 26 September at Marina Bay Cruise Centre. Main beneficiaries are elderly from different places. There are various games and food stall for the elderly to enjoy and have fun. As members from EHIG, we volunteer to setup a game stall for the event. The preparation started few day before the event, we have build up some interesting game such as fruit piano and electronic pet. All the games that we did have a link to Electronic like using Makey-makey to build a piano. Carnival was on 26th September 2015 (Saturday) In this year we have 12 student volunteer in the event. Special thanks to SAT and ESN to organize this event and members from EHIG and student who participated and help out on that day. :) Here are some of the photo of the Carnival.

EHIG had run a workshop  on 29 July 2015 (Wednesday). The purpose of this workshop is to share knowledge about electronics to our new members or new students  in Republic Polytechnic  and let them find out something new and interesting. We had carried out some simple game which is related to engineering such as Makey-makey.   Makey-makey was an invention kit for 21st century. It turns everyday's objects into touchpads and combines them with the internet. It's a simple invention kit for beginners ans experts doing art and engineering. The main thing that we used to replace the keyboard or any touchpads was **FRUIT** First of all, president was gave us a speech about the component that we will use in the game and how's the thing work. Also, we start to teach them how to create our own makey makey piano. A very warm welcome to all Year 1 and Year 2 new members! You have made the right choice by coming to EHIG's welcome tea! We look forward to welcome you to our EHIG!  Our welcome tea was run from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at W23D on 19 May 2015.   We have lined up a series of talks to introduce our IG club, the events and the competition that we took part and unlimited learning opportunities available for our members. Besides that, awards has been given to the 2014' committee members during the welcome section. Thanks to them who sacrificed their time for the IG and let our IG runs smoothly. Now, I am very proud to be a member of this EHIG. We decided to take part in "Security Awareness for Everyone(SAFE) 2014" competition in association with Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) for the very first time from our IG. So, it was last year that we submitted a proposal about the Electronics Signboard. Of course, there were a lot of categories to choose for the competition but our IG is Electronics Hobby IG so we chose something that is related to Electronics. Our proposal was quite simple and we did not even expect to be nominated. Surprisingly, after a few months later, we have been emailed that we were selected for the competition and had been assigned a mentor named "Mr.Kenneth" from Singapore Police Force! WoW! That was the time that we have been pumped up and we have worked on it pretty seriously. Even we had a semester break for one and a half month, some of our committee members went back to their respective countries like China, Myanmar, for o
