About Electronics Interest Group (EIG)

Electronics Hobby Interest Group (EHIG) was founded in 2006 to promote an interest in electronics design and programming to let interested students have a taste of what electronics is all about. In Jan 2020, EHIG was renamed to Electronics Interest Group (EIG) after merger with the now defunct Medical Electronics IG. EIG members will continue to have the opportunity to work with advisors and external organizations to propose electronics-related activities such as talks, workshops, and projects which they think can interest their peers.  EIG members are also given the opportunity to represent RP to participate in external competitions.

CCA Records in Transcript

1.     President, Vice President together with Committee will need to organise the following activities in order for their CCA records and appointments in EIG to be endorsed and appear in their transcript

a.     Minimum 1 x Workshop

b.     Minimum 1 x Workshop/Service Learning Project/Internal Competition/External Competition

c.     Minimum 1 x Welfare Event

 If the President, Vice President misses more than two meetings, they will be removed from positions if no valid reasons are provided.


2.     If any Committee Members has less than 80% attendance, they will be liable for extended service for the IG until they have finish their extended service.

  

Roles and Responsibilities

 

President

 1.     Presides at all meetings,

2.     Ensure at least one workshop is organized

3.     Ensure at least  another workshop/service learning activity/competition is organised.

4.     Track all attendance of EIG activities and send out attendance records after every meeting and inform advisor if any committee member do not meet attendance requirements for further followups.

5.     Run election process for Year 2 Committee Members for president and vice president positions

 

 

Vice President

 1.     Ensure that at least one welfare event is organised

2.     Ensure that EIG social media Instagram, Facebook and Blogsite are updated

3.     Assumes presidents duties in his/her absence or in time of need, schedules meetings and facilities,

4.     Assist President to run election process for Year 2 Committee for president and vice president positions

  

Secretary/Assistant Secretary

1.     Report to President

2.     takes and distributes minutes for all club meetings, record keeper, and club historian

3.     Notify members of meetings via email and whatsApp

 

Head of Logistics 

 1.     In charge of transport and distribution of items during EIG events.

2.     Tally and monitor all issued items and ensure they are collected back and stored properly after EIG events

3.     Dismantle items for transportation and storage

 

 Head of Media

 1.     In charge of photo taking and production of EIG publicity videos covering all events

2.     Update EIG Blog

3.     At least one video per year

4.     Decorate EIG Notice Board 


Head of Marketing And Publicity 

1. In charge of marketing campaigns for EIG events in EIG Blog, EIG Facebook EIG instagram and email before events

 

Head of Publicity 

 1.     In charge of maintaining and updating the EIG Blog, EIG Facebook and EIG Instagram after events

We are immensely grateful to all the students who participated in our enlightening excursion to the LTA SG Mobility Gallery on December 11,2023.  It was a day filled with insight, exploration, and joy, as students immersed themselves in the innovative realm of land transport. The day was punctuated with activities that were as fun as they were thought-provoking.  The students gathered in teams to tackle various challenges, from conceptualizing sustainable transport solutions to engaging in simulations that showcased the impact of their ideas on the environment and society.
